Website Review of youtube.com

Probably the most popular website to use thumbnails, YouTube’s whole website is based on navigating by clicking thumbnails. Each thumbnail brings you to a unique video that has been uploaded by someone with an account on the website. Most of the time, the thumbnails give an accurate representation, or at least a sense, of the content in the video, but some channels use thumbnails that show something not contained in the video at all. This is called clickbaiting, and it’s how some channels try to get more views on their videos.

As for the design aspects, being one of the most popular websites means you have to have quality design. Off to the left of the screen, there is a collapsable navigation bar that contains almost every button needed to travel to different parts of the website. From top to bottom, there are the three most commonly used navigation buttons, buttons related to videos you have watched and/or saved, a collapsable list of your subscriptions, video categorys, and then some less commonly used miscellaneous buttons. Along the top, there is a search bar for you to find whatever video or channel you want to, and there are buttons related to your channel for your own purposes. Finally, the rest of the home page is made up of thumbnails for recommended videos. Clicking on one of these will bring you to whatever video it is, and you can proceed to watch it.

As for errors on the home page from validation, there are only fourteen, and one of them is just a warning.
