Student Resources Stats

I believe that the bounce rate for the “current student resources” page is too low. Essentially the only content on this page is links to other pages, so why isn’t the number of bounces higher? Granted, the login button is right at the top of the page, but I’m fairly certain that landing on this page and clicking on that button a couple of seconds later would still count as a bounce.

I see two possibilities, one of which is fixable, but the other one really isn’t. The fixable possible problem is reducing the amount of space between links. I understand that keeping every page on a site consistent in design is important, but seeing as this is just a functional page, I shouldn’t have to scroll as far as I do. For example, the images don’t really help me understand the link lists any better, and removing them alone would already free up a lot of space.

One other possibility I see is that people are overwhelmed by the amount of content on the page, so they either leave the page to go search for what they’re looking for via Google or NWTC’s site search. The point of the page is to contain all of the resource links, though, so the only possibility I really see is grouping the links differently.
