My Magic Story

For my final project, I would like to present the thought process behind me just starting out in magic to where I am today because I think all of the little details are interesting. This should also be read in the order that you see the links in the navigation, starting with this page.

When I was a young boy (I don’t know exactly what age, probably 8-10), I was at deer camp with my dad and relatives. One of the people there was my cousin from Texas. He taught me how to play Blackjack that year, but one night, he showed me a card trick. Now, he wasn’t what you would consider a magician; he was just that kind of guy who knows one halfway-decent trick. I thought it was cool, and I had no idea how it was done until he showed me. However, at this time, I made no effort to remember the trick or how it was done because I sort of thought this would be a one-time thing.

One day a couple of years later, around the age of 12, I suddenly remembered this trick, but I could not exactly remember the solution. My dad was able to help fill in the gaps because he was watching the solution as well that night. After remembering, I thought it might be cool to learn another one and show it to my parents, so I pulled up YouTube and searched for easy card tricks. I found one and presented it. After this, I just started looking up and learning more and more card tricks. I’ve even ended up doing performances even though performing is something I hate doing since I always get so nervous.
